I purchased this scale after reading reviews on Amazon. This scale replaces a failed much more expensive digital scale I purchased a few years ago. The EatSmart scale repeats where my previous digital scale would not. It also takes standard batteries where the older unit needed a hard to find special battery.

Turning on is not a problem. I keep the scale on a counter. Lifting it off the counter turns it on. I just let it zero itself once placed on the floor.
