Q 8 See Channel watch out
I fell in love with Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl series a few years ago. Having always been a science fiction and fantasy reader, this series caught my eye during one of those periods life deals us from time to time where one needs a complete escape. Sometimes picking up a book targeted to children or young adults is the best salve for stress.
Colfer’s style is engaging and clever. The depth of detail is such that even during subsequent readings you will discover a new pun or play on words. I highly recommend this series to readers 12 and up. Though the title character is supposed to be an evil genius, readers will soon discover the truth behind his motives and will find themselves rooting for both the humans and the faries in this highly entertaining and fast paced series.

What people think about SZ Wolf Nylabone #NW103
I got this for my Jack Russell/Labrador mix and it has worked exactly as described. I tried many other toys and most only lasted a couple of days before she had the stuffing pulled out or I was finding little pieces of rubber in my carpet, even those designated as teething/chewing type toys. This is well worth the money. I bought two over 3 months ago and she is still on the first one where as before I was buying practically a toy a week.

Extreme Paris LIERAC Coherence no mad
This is a nice scale. The batteries that came with it were dead and I had to replace them with my own, but apart from that it’s a good product.

My high school teacher forced my English class to read this book back in the late 1970’s but somehow I managed to avoid reading it – maybe I was visiting colleges or something at that time. In any case, about 6 years later I found myself alone and stranded in the Australian outback with absolutely nothing to do and nothing to read except a box of books that included most of the works by Mark Twain, John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut and this one by Salinger. It was the first time in my life that I had ever delved into literature in any real way and I totally fell in love with Twain and Steinbeck and especially Vonnegut. But when it came to this Salinger thing, I couldn’t believe how boring it was, how irrelevant it seemed, how utterly phony its angsty rebelliousness seemed to be. I had grown up around tough kids who lived difficult lives when I was a kid and in Australia I had been working with roughnecks in the oil business, so this Salinger thing seemed pathetically trivial to me and its fame remained totally baffling to me. So about 8 years after that, I thought maybe I had missed something on the first read, so I read it again. And then I tried to re-read it for a third time about 5 years after that, but the effect was always the same. You call this angst? You’re telling me this is what rebellion feels like? I can only think that my English teacher and all those other teachers who think this is somehow profound really haven’t had much of a life, haven’t really plunged too far into the depths of human experience, haven’t really had to face difficult questions about existence and so forth. I’m sorry, but it’s just a boring book. And if you’re a teenager and your teachers are cramming this down your throat and you don’t get it no matter how hard you try, don’t sweat it: you’re not alone. Maybe this was mind-blowing stuff 60 years ago, but 25 years ago I thought it was just an over-hyped waste of time… and I still do. Maybe there’s a reason Salinger went i

Brazilwood Bow Violin Size the best
I’m an adult learner–a newbie. And still working on how to hold a fiddle and bow. Some months ago, I bought a fiddle that lists for $1,500 and a bow, that appraised for $300. After some near-misses with doorways, I decided that I should use a cheaper bow until I better learned how to manage it. I purchased this one because it’s CHEAP! Is 8-sided like my “real” bow — and the reviews were positive.
It arrived very promptly — in a very battered box, that had taken some serious dents. “Uh-oh! Hope they packed it well.” Opening it, I found that the bow was in a plastic sheath, taped to a sturdy wooden rod, and enveloped in several turns of bubble wrap. It had come through, just fine!
Unwrapping it, I was alarmed because it seemed to have a much more pronounced arch than my Bow #1. (Was it warped?) But no, everything lined up fine, actually. Looking it over, too, it was almost a replica of my fancier bow . . . the mother-of-pearl in the frog is a straight white, versus the pretty blue/greens in the other. Also, I could see that the wood was of a lighter weight.
Then I put on the rosin and played. the tone was also “thinner” and lighter/quieter than with the more expensive bow. (Which, as a beginning violinist with neighbors on the other side of the wall, I consider a plus.) The sound is . . . pretty. Gee.
Are these things hot? Should I “stock up while supplies last?” Incredible value. I don’t know when I’ve been so happy with a purchase. A big thanks!

“Artemis Fowl” by Eoin Colfer, ©2001
I could not help thinking, “What if he had to hurt or even kill someone or something? Could he do it?” He is presented as a merciless criminal, and he is performing as such, but the situation is not developed that he would have to make such a choice. But he is only twelve years old, so the question is could he?
I always enjoy these teenager stories. They are so interesting and the stories are generally pretty good. This is the story of a little boy genius following in his fathers footsteps. His father was a criminal mastermind. His mother is distraught by is disappearance a year or so before the story.
Artemis Fowl acquires, by a bit of deceit a book of the elves, gnomes, dwarves, etc. With this book he concocts to get hold of a bunch of gold. He underestimates the power of the elves. They underestimate his power. In the end everyone is happier, though the elves are a bit poorer. He gets his mother healed by the power of one of the elfs.

The Guide Definitive to deal
This book is well suited to someone with a basic knowledge of Linux, specifically Redhat based. It does cover some basics but doesn’t go to deep into installation, so if you don’t have any Linux experience I wouldn’t recommend this book to start with. However, having said that this book is a great way to setup your Linux server using those common services. As a companion book I would recommend this book to anyone starting out, more experienced Linux users may find this book a bit basic. I’m a seasoned Linux user and have picked up a few helpful tips, so well worth the buy.
